Florestan Berset (né en 1995 à La Chaux-de-Fonds, Suisse) est un guitariste, compositeur et artiste. Sa carrière musicale inclut divers genres musicaux, mais son travail central prend place dans la musique improvisée et la composition. Il a obtenu son Master of Arts in Music à la Haute Ecole de Musique à Lucerne, où il a étudié avec Christy Doran, Kalle Kalima et Fred Frith. Il a collaboré entre autres avec Noël Akchoté, Pierre Favre et John Voirol. En 2017, il a sorti son premier EP, Antomology avec Noël Akchoté. Yakut's Gallop, premier album de son trio MingBauSet (w/ Gerry Hemingway & Vera Baumann) est sorti en 2021 sur le label polonais Fundacja Słuchaj et a été récompensé par le prestigieux prix “Selektive Förderung” à Lucerne. En 2024, il sort son premier album en tant que leader « A Vol d'Oiseau » avec Norbert Pfammatter et Francesco Losavio. Il développe actuellement un projet solo dans lequel il explore un large éventail de sons, de couleurs et de formes sans renier la longue et profonde tradition de son instrument. Son premier album solo sera publié en juin 2025 sur le label Unit Records.

He has collaborated with Noël Akchoté, Pierre Favre and John Voirol, among others. In 2017, he released his first EP, Antomology with Noël Akchoté. Yakut's Gallop, the first album by his trio MingBauSet (w/ Gerry Hemingway & Vera Baumann) was released in 2021 on the Polish label Fundacja Słuchaj and was awarded the prestigious “Selektive Förderung” prize in Lucerne. In 2024, he released his first album as leader “A Vol d'Oiseau” with Norbert Pfammatter and Francesco Losavio. He is currently developing a solo project in which he explores a wide range of sounds, colors and shapes without denying the long and deep tradition of his instrument. His first solo album will be released in June 2025 on Unit Records.
